Business email

This section serves two readers. If you are choosing or reorganizing a business email service, you will find three guides: the operating model, the features to require, and backup and continuity. If you already use Klytic Mail, you will find four how-tos for routine administration tasks.

Who this section is for

A business email service plays three roles at once. It receives mail sent to your domain. It keeps the history of your exchanges with customers, suppliers and public authorities. It carries the calendars, contacts and shared addresses your teams rely on every day.

The “Understand” guides hold true for a reader who never becomes a customer: they set out criteria, limits and sources, then say where Klytic stands. The “Use Klytic Mail” notes assume the service is in place. They describe who acts (the user, your account administrator or Klytic support) and what the plan covers.

Understand

Two guides already published complete this block. To compare providers, read choosing a European business email service. To change servers without changing your domain or losing mail, follow migrating email without interruption.

Use Klytic Mail

  • Shared mailboxes, aliases and multiple entities: aliases, distribution lists, shared mailboxes with delegation, several domains in one console, and the hosting level to choose when two companies must not see each other.
  • The mailbox of a departing employee: decide before closing, revoke sign-in and devices, give the successor access without handing over a password.
  • Archiving messages: filing, recovering from the dumpster folder, or retaining with the optional legal archiving. Three actions teams often confuse.
  • Restoring a message or a mailbox: what users recover on their own, and what support restores from the backups of the last 30 days, included or billed depending on the cause.

Where to start

  • You are comparing offers: start with the operating model, then the feature list. The European comparison comes next.
  • You are preparing an email switch: the migration guide first, then the backup guide, so you know what to require from the new service.
  • A message has disappeared: the restore note says who acts and what to provide to support.
  • An employee leaves next week: the departure note, then the archiving note if the mailbox must be kept for a long time.

Email security has its own section

Klytic Mail can be filtered by Klytic MTA, the security gateway placed in front of the mail service. How it works (quarantine, CEO fraud, SPF, DKIM and DMARC) is covered in the Email security section, which also applies to a mail service other than Klytic Mail.

Sovereignty and hosting

Where mailboxes are located, which company operates them and who holds the encryption keys are covered in the Digital sovereignty section. The starting point is the guide what is a sovereign cloud; Klytic’s hosting options are described on the hosting and sovereignty page.
